RETREAT DESCRIPTION
“REMEMBERING WHO WE ARE” arises from a wish to offer an intentionally curated container, where Silence, Nature, Mindfulness & Insight meditation and Yoga facilitate the arising of a deep wisdom of our core beingness.
My intention is to hold space for you to embark on a journey of remembering who we are beyond all the conditionings, habits, mental constructs we carry.
Throughout these 3 full days you will be guided into seated meditation practice, supported by silence, asana, pranayama and attunement with Nature. On the last day, you’ll be asked to engage with fellow participants again following invitations for rooted connections and explore how to integrate what you’ve cultivated during the retreat into your daily life.
An intentional & safe container for your spiritual practice
Food will be served and logistics will be taken care of so you can just focus on the practices and enjoying the natural surroundings where you can take walks and contemplative sittings outdoors. You’ll also be invited to the practice of journaling.
My wish is that you can fully immerse into this inner work and resource yourself by taking a pause from the demands of daily life.
I invite you to see this retreat as an intentional container that can facilitate your immersion into Sādhanā, a sanskrit word often translated as spiritual practice / discipline. A dedicated and consistent practice undertaken with the aim of spiritual growth and inner transformation. My intention is to host this retreat in a way that it becomes beneficial to your already established Sādhanā or to support you establish one. And that you become inspired and motivated to bring the practice home.
Primary focus on Mindfulness & Insight Meditation supported by Noble Silence, Yoga Asana and Pranayama
Two and a half days of silence and continual mindfulness practice will support you to:
∞ Establish/deepen a meditation practice aimed at learning how to inhabit the present moment and access the aliveness and stillness that are already within
∞ Find a reliable anchor to cultivate presence
∞ Befriend the mind / stop fighting mind wandering
∞ Resource through curiosity and kindness
∞ Gain mindfulness tools for daily life
∞ Integration of body, breath & mind
∞ Extra support for seated meditation practice with asana and pranayama
What I offer as a teacher is rooted in what I continue to explore as a practitioner and I have benefited deeply from retreats where silence is practiced. And there is a reason why so many retreats (for lay people & monastics) from different traditions are held in silence. So during Friday, Saturday and part of Sunday, the invitation is to practice “Noble Silence”: silence of body, word and mind, which means not engaging in communication with others and restraining also from actively choosing to entertain one’s mind.
This doesn’t mean that you can’t communicate if you have any special need (logistical question/concerns) and also there will be a space each day for questions about the meditation techniques and the other practices.
Practicing silence is foremost an invitation to reduce as much as possible the interaction with others to support the inner focus.
Invitations for rooted connection
On the last day you’ll be invited into different dynamics for nourishing rooted connections with your retreat companions. Practice interacting from an established connection with yourself. Which can also support you to practice how to bring mindfulness into your relationships and daily life.
