Remembering Who We Are · Silent Meditation Retreat

“REMEMBERING WHO WE ARE” arises from a wholehearted wish to offer a curated container where the wisdom traditions that have transformed my life, come together to support a journey of remembering who we are beyond the patterns of the conditioned mind.

Across these days, you will be gently guided into sustained periods of seated and walking meditation, supported by silence, asana, pranayama, and time in nature — creating the conditions for presence to deepen and insight to arise.

On the final day, silence will gradually open into facilitated group sharing, offering space to reflect, connect, and begin integrating what has been cultivated.

Open to both experienced practitioners and beginners, this retreat offers a steady and nurturing ground for practice. At its heart, the invitation is to move beyond meditation as something we “do,” and begin to embrace it as part of our Sādhanā — a  devoted path of inner transformation.

This retreat offers a pause from the pace of everyday life where you can immerse yourself in intentional spiritual practice. In a peaceful and supportive setting, silence, meditation, yoga, and time in nature come together to create the conditions for a natural settling of body and mind.

The practices shared arise from a path that has deeply shaped my own life. It is both a joy and a responsibility to offer these teachings and tools that continue to support profound inner and outer transformation.

This retreat will be again hosted at Ashram Arautapala, located in the municipality of La Orotava, in the north of Tenerife. In the middle of a lush natural environment, this beautiful retreat center is lovingly cared for by devoted hosts whose presence contributes greatly to the atmosphere of the place. Surrounded by old chestnut trees, forest, and mountains, and with panoramic views over the Atlantic Ocean toward Mount Teide, the landscape leaves a quiet yet lasting impression on those who spend time there.

The ‘setting’ naturally invites participants to step away from the pace of everyday life for a few days, to gently resource and reconnect with themselves and with nature. The calm environment supports rest and regeneration, creating the conditions to settle more deeply into inner practice. Many retreat participants describe the place as fostering a growing sense of inner stillness, one of the center’s most precious gifts.

This retreat is designed as a safe and intentional container where you can take a deep dive into practice & focus on inner cultivation. Meals are lovingly prepared, and the practical aspects of the retreat are taken care of, allowing you to rest your attention in practice, in nature, and in stillness.

There will be time for quiet walks, contemplative sitting outdoors, and journaling. Reflection prompts will be offered at certain moments to support integration. You are invited to approach these days as an entry into Sādhanā — a dedicated and consistent path of spiritual practice. Whether you are deepening an existing practice or beginning one, the retreat offers a steady and supportive ground

The retreat centers on Buddhist meditation, rooted in the path laid out by the Buddha as a way of understanding the causes of our inner struggle, gently loosening unhelpful patterns, and cultivating qualities that support greater ease and inner freedom.

Meditation practice draws on the two complementary qualities of Samatha (calm and stability) and Vipassanā (insight), with mindfulness as the foundation. Alongside this, there is an emphasis on the quality of our attention, where practice focuses on gently cultivating an attitude of openness and allowing toward present-moment experience.

Each day, a short piece of Buddhist teachings will be shared to support and deepen the practice.

Yoga asana and pranayama are offered as supportive practices to help the body, heart, and mind settle, creating the conditions for a more easeful and sustainable meditation practice.

From Friday morning until part of Sunday, participants are invited into Noble Silence — silence of body, speech, and mind. This means refraining from conversation and minimizing external engagement, allowing attention to gently turn inward.

You are always welcome to speak with me during designated times for guidance or practical needs. Silence here is not about rigidity, but about creating the conditions for deeper listening and presence.

As silence comes to an end, you will be invited into sharing with your fellow retreat participants. This will be gently facilitated, allowing for spaciousness and ease as we transition back into interaction.

These moments offer an opportunity to experience connection from a place of greater presence and groundedness.

To support the container of the retreat:

○ Participants are asked to remain at the center for the full duration of the retreat
○ Phones will be collected at the beginning and returned on the final day
○ In case of emergency, a contact number will be provided so that you can share with your contact person
○ Music and reading are set aside to reduce external input and deepen the experience
